This photo is one of my favourites - I took it from the Esplanade at Wynnum (home town) looking out to Moreton Bay.

This is a wonderful part of Australia - with some 300 plus islands in the Bay, it is a haven for professional and amateur fishermen, and boats of all kinds ply the waters of the Bay.

It has one of the largest marina's in the southern hemisphere, and the Brisbane River spills out into the Bay. It is a great tourist destination and at this time of year very popular for whale watching.

Some of the islands are well populated and tourist and commuter ferries and boats take passengers and residents back and forth.

Sadly, there is some pollution and the fish stocks are being depleted and the sea animals are being injured and killed by the many boats. Turtles, dolphins, whales, dugong can all be seen in the waters though, and it is hoped that our governments will continue to preserve these waters for the benefit of all.
