Ok...and now for a happier topic that doesn't garner so many personal insults thrown my way....more HOOTIE!! They're such a happy band. One of the things that I really respect about them is that they don't really have any "skeletons in their closet." They're just four friends who hang out and like to play music together. You know when you watch VH1's Behind the Music and all these bands talk about their dirty laundry? It's either about one guy's excessive drug use or another guy cheating on his wife with all the groupies. There are stories about breaking up and guys getting kicked out of the band. They talk about destroying hotel rooms and whatever other sort of debauchery you can think of.

One of the top five nights in my lifetime happened in May 2004, right around my birthday. No, it wasn't the night I got married. No, I didn't have a brat born that night. May 13, 2004 was the night I had front row tickets to see Hootie and the Blowfish at Soaring Eagle Casino in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan.

I was reading an article about..what else...Hootie and the Blowfish. I was doing research for my aptly titled, "All Hootie, All the Time" blog when I came across an interesting piece of information. Well, I found it interesting anyway. I noticed that Hootie and the Blowfish's third album release - Musical Chairs - "dropped" (that's record industry lingo for the day they go on sale) on September 15, 1998.

Hootie and the Blowfish are huge sports fans. Their biggest thing is golf, but they have songs and videos that have sports themes in them. “Only Wanna Be With You” is just one of these songs. Darius isn’t singing about the dolphins that swim in the ocean when he wails, “Even the Dolphins make me cry.” He’s talking about the Miami Dolphins and the bad year they were having when the song was written.

One of my favorite songs by Hootie and the Blowfish is called, "Not Even the Trees." As I understand it, this was a song written by the bassist - Dean Felber following the passing of his mother. I like Dean. He's the quiet one that nobody ever notices and he's hardly ever heard from. He just stands up on stage and jams. With my mother being deceased, the song's meaning only intensified for me. Rather than reprint the entire set of lyrics, I'm just going to pick out my favorites.

I'm going to reserve this site for housing my new blog. This new blog is going to be dedicated to the greatest band EVER!! No, Muse, it's not gonna be the Grateful Dead. It's going to be an even better band than that.

So I got this job offer to write for this company. Actually, I haven't been offered the job yet, but there's a good chance I could get it. But here's the problem.

It's for a company that writes college papers "on demand" for college students to use as their own. And I'm not so sure I'm okay with that.

Dave Ramsey is not about debt consolidation or trying some risky formula to get money fast. He is about working and paying off bills slowly but surely. (And no, I’m not calling you Shirley).

Debt consolidation is never the best way to pay off debts. Debt consolidation companies are not only a bad idea, but they also ruin your credit even worse than it was before a client signs up with them.

Working is the best and guaranteed way to earn an income. There are several "get rich quick" schemes and scams out there that people try to take advantage of. These scams occasionally work, but for the normal and average person, they produce little or no results. Many people have involved themselves in these schemes, only to come out through it with a smaller bank account. The lucky ones come through the ordeal with a lesson learned…but many cannot claim this.
